LinkedIN is ablaze with “trends”, “predictions” and observations” for 2025 across marketing and advertising. What are we going to see? How prepared does everyone need to be? What do you need to have in your arsenal to fight AI?
Just kidding, I know the new coping mechanism is: AI is a tool, not enemy. Master it or get left behind like Kodak when digital cameras were born.
Kodak still exists, by the way.
With everyone sharing trends, but very few discussing, I took to Google. Best to find reports and expert insights on this topic, right?. From the multiple articles I found (links shared at the end), I’ve rounded up the top 5 marketing and advertising trends for 2025 that stood out to me in this blog.
Whether you’re in this field or not, it’s very interesting to see how the market is changing. In this post, I’ll be discussing the trends from a copywriter’s perspective.
1. AI: Chief Simplifier Officer
I agree that AI agents will play a huge role in 2025. But unlike it was used in 2024 to do the work, it will now be plugged in to propel you forward. It’s becoming increasingly obvious when AI is used without human intervention to enhance it. For instance, Copywriters on LinkedIN didn’t have to try too hard allege that the new Skechers ad for Vogue was AI-generated.

2. Swipe, see, shop.
Shoppable ads are predicted to get more attention. Tik-tok, Youtube and Instagram Reels help people decide whether they want a product or not.
Furthermore, while big brands exist, smaller and newer brands are quick to steal attention without going through the marketing funnel (awareness, consideration, conversion). Social media helps users discover new, local brands without even actively searching for them.
3. Connections over confusion
Brands have the opportunity to reach out, understand and talk to their customers. Recently, I watched a reel of a woman complaining about Paradyes, a quirky hair-color brand. Not only did the brand apologize and explain themselves in the comments, but other users came to their rescue too.
Google reported that the search for “dopamine fasting” skyrocketed by 6X this year, with people actively seeking refuge from overstimulation. People are looking to disconnect when faced with too many options.
The power of social media allows the biggest brands to “relate” with their audience. So why not take advantage of that?
4. Get real
People want to see people.
Organic content is back in the limelight. Customers are perceived to crave authenticity over polished and perfect content. This also throws light on influencer marketing in 2025. While its potential is not lost, oversaturation of influencer marketing is real. Brands will have to identify who their audience trusts to be relevant and relatable and strike up partnerships accordingly in 2025.
5. All eyes on short-form copy
Who doesn’t love a sassy, snappy and relatable brand update? I know I do!
2025 just started but brands are already at work! Threads and LinkedIN are seeing quirky updates and it’s likely to continue throughout the year.

In conclusion
My prediction for 2025 is based on trends that brands hopped last year.
Jumping on every trend might not be the best idea. Brands should return to identifying with their brand voice. Like when “very demure, very mindful” went viral, again, brands hopped on it. But it failed. It just didn’t work nor stick with people.
Aligning what matters to your brand, audience and potential customers, I think, will take a front seat in 2025.
“Less is more” could be the new mission statement without audience attention dwindling. You have to tell or show your customers why they need to give you their time of the day.
What do you think?
