This story is about a lot of things, but mostly about idiots. So it
needs saying from the outset that it’s always very easy to declare that
other people are idiots, but only if you forget how idiotically
difficult being human is.
Synopsis: A bank robbery turned hostage drama brings together strangers struggling to keep up appearances. Anxious People delivers a whimsical plot and a gentle reminder to be compassionate to all the anxious people we meet.
Mini review: The story begins with an ongoing investigation and interrogation of one of the hostages held by a bank robber. Right from the beginning, you know you have to pay attention to what is being said and unfolded.
Backman’s writing style is a treat! He weaves story that will make you laugh even as he tugs at your heart strings.
You can also catch the series by the same title on Netflix. But there’s no doubt that the book is better.
